    Teaching English in Hangzhou

Hangzhou, the capital of China’s Zhejiang province, is the southern terminus of the ancient Grand Canal waterway. Its West Lake, celebrated by poets and artists since the 9th century, encompasses islands (reachable by boat), temples, pavilions, traditional gardens and bridges. It is a city well known for beautiful nature and landscape.

    Hangzhou (population of 6.8 million)
Note: For Hangzhou the working requirements are generally more strict with required two years experience or a related degree.

    Pros
Modern city, less than an hour bullet train ride to Shanghai
There are more foreigners in Hangzhou (still mainly all Chinese but you will be able to find more groups of foreigners there).
There is a beautiful lake area that brings in a lot of tourists
The subways system is more developed and it is easier to get around the city.

    Cons
The kindergartens are more spread out so we need independent teachers in Hangzhou.
You will be able to see the other teachers but usually the teachers live close to the kindergarten (they work at) and not very close to the other teachers (like the other cities).
The cost of living in Hangzhou is higher than most of the other cities, but not as high as Shanghai and Beijing.
